“I have no hand in any ‘satanic’ rally in Akwa Ibom,” says Akpabio
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has denied any involvement in a planned rally in Akwa Ibom, purportedly organized to support him. The rally, set for April 4, 2025, is being led by Ubong Idemudo, a controversial figure, and is being carried out under the banner of a group called the Progressive Peoples’ Resolution (PPR).
In a statement released Thursday by his Media Assistant, Jackson Udom, Akpabio emphasized that he had not authorized the rally and strongly condemned its organization. He described the event as the work of individuals seeking to exploit his name for their own agendas, calling it a “satanic rally.”
The Senate President urged the people of Akwa Ibom to ignore the rally and continue with their daily activities. He also called on the police and other security agencies in the state to ensure that the event does not take place, making it clear that he has no ties to the organizers and does not endorse the rally.
