“I Have Concrete Evidence; Let Akpabio Defend Himself” – Senator Natasha Warns Akpabio’s Wife
Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has cautioned Mrs. Unoma Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, against interfering in allegations of sexual harassment and intimidation against her husband.
The controversy began when Akpoti-Uduaghan refused to sit in a designated seat during a Senate session, citing Order 10 of the Senate Standing Rules. The situation escalated further when she appeared on *Arise News* on Friday, accusing Akpabio of blocking her motions, maligning her, and intimidating her after she allegedly rejected his sexual advances.
In response, Mrs. Akpabio dismissed the allegations at a press conference in Abuja, insisting that both families had shared a cordial relationship even before Akpoti-Uduaghan’s marriage. She described the accusations as baseless.
Following Mrs. Akpabio’s remarks, Akpoti-Uduaghan, through her lawyer Victor Giwa, issued a letter dated March 1, 2025, warning her to stay out of the matter. The letter, titled *“Stay Away from Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Sexual Harassment and Intimidation Allegation Against Senate President Godswill Akpabio To Safeguard Your Sanity and That of Your Family,”* emphasized that the allegations were directed at the Senate President and that he should be left to defend himself.
The letter stated that Akpoti-Uduaghan had endured harassment from Akpabio for too long and had no choice but to speak out about the intimidation she faced in the Senate. It also reaffirmed that she had sufficient evidence to back her claims and urged Mrs. Akpabio to refrain from further involvement.
Akpoti-Uduaghan reiterated her dedication to advocating for Nigerian women and upholding family values, stressing that the matter should remain between her and the Senate President.
