“I Don’t Have Godfathers” – Governor Okpebholo Dismisses Allegations
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has denied claims that he was installed by political godfathers to serve as a puppet in office.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s *Politics Today*, Okpebholo refuted suggestions that his rise to power was orchestrated by influential figures controlling his decisions. When asked about his political affiliations, he maintained that his journey to the governorship was divinely guided rather than the result of any political sponsorship.
“Can you even point out one godfather who was pushing me?” he questioned, emphasizing that his success was due to divine intervention rather than the backing of a single power broker. He added that God used various individuals to support his ambition, ultimately leading to his election as the state’s leader.
