Hunger Protest: Nigerians are Sore Losers, Says Governor Dapo Abiodun; Backs Tinubu

Governor Dapo Abiodun has harshly criticized Nigerians protesting against the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu, labeling them as “sore losers.” In a Thursday night interview with Channel TV, Abiodun attributed the nationwide #EndHunger protests to the machinations of politicians defeated by Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

“Mr. Tinubu won that election by a significant margin,” Abiodun stated. “That indicates that more people wanted him to be president than those who didn’t.”

Abiodun went on to suggest that the protests were a reaction from those unwilling to accept the election outcome. “The problem we have today is that Nigerians are sore losers. Abiodun’s remarks have ignited strong reactions online. One user on X, @FrannyOD, shared a video of the governor’s statement, commenting, “This incompetent criminal called Nigerians Sore Losers! – Dapo Abiodun. The audacity of a fraudster to undermine the efforts of hard-working Nigerians demanding a better country.”

Another user, @sr_leky, said, “Gov. Dapo Abiodun is one of the most useless Governors I have ever seen in my life. We must end #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria
