How Villagers Concealed Weapons Following Terrorist Elimination, Discloses Chief of Defence Staff

In a recent interview on Trust TV, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, unveiled a disconcerting trend in the Northeastern part of the country, where villagers clandestinely stored weapons after troops successfully neutralized terrorists.

General Musa recounted instances during his tenure as the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK, revealing, “Terrorists would enter a village armed, we’d eliminate them, but by the time we arrived, all weapons were discreetly hidden. Subsequently, they would retrieve them to launch surprise attacks from the rear.”

Expressing concern over the deteriorating societal values contributing to insecurity, the defence chief urged religious leaders and traditional rulers to reassess Nigeria’s core principles.

Musa emphasized, “We are witnessing unprecedented behavior. Family values are diminishing; even siblings resort to kidnapping within their own households. Society has become monetized, leading everyone to believe money solves all issues. We must address these concerns.”

Calling for a return to traditional values, he appealed, “Religious leaders and traditional rulers should revisit our value system, emphasizing the importance of God, faith, and sincerity. We need to instill godliness alongside religiosity; merely being religious is not enough.”
