How Soludo Rebagged FG Rice, Shared It to APGA Members – Anambra APC Alleges

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has raised concerns over what it describes as the dominance of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in federal government affairs within the state.

Speaking over the weekend, Anambra APC chairman, Basil Ejidike, alleged that federal government palliatives meant for all citizens were repackaged with Governor Soludo’s image and distributed exclusively to APGA members during the last Christmas season.

Ejidike expressed frustration over the sidelining of APC members in key federal government appointments and the distribution of relief materials, calling for urgent intervention from President Bola Tinubu and the national leadership of the party.

“The issue of federal appointments without input from the APC in Anambra is hurting our party’s growth. Many of those appointed are not even our members but are from APGA,” Ejidike stated.

He further lamented that APC loyalists who have made sacrifices for the party have been ignored, while APGA members continue to benefit disproportionately.

“At the ward, local government, and state levels, our members are being discriminated against. APGA does not recognize or include non-members in the allocation of government incentives and appointments,” he added.

Ejidike specifically accused the Anambra State government of hijacking federal government palliatives, stating that rice sent by the federal government was rebagged with Governor Soludo’s image and APGA branding, misleading the public into believing they were state-provided.

“This situation has weakened our party’s influence in the state. We urge the APC national leadership, particularly Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, to intervene and rescue our members from continued marginalization,” he appealed.

The APC chairman warned that the trend could demoralize party members ahead of the 2025 Anambra governorship election, calling for immediate corrective measures to strengthen the party’s position in the state.
