How a Missing Abuja Woman Was Found in Sokoto Unable to Speak

Mallam Jibrin Rabiu has shared the harrowing story of how his wife, Khadijat Ado, went missing from their Life Camp home in Abuja last Thursday and was later found in Sokoto. Speaking with Daily Trust on Sunday evening, Rabiu explained that he discovered his wife missing upon returning home and immediately contacted a police officer friend, who alerted the Life Camp, Gwarinpa, and other police divisions after initial search efforts failed.

CCTV footage reportedly captured Khadijat calmly leaving the house before moving out of the camera’s range. Despite extensive searches, she was not found that Thursday. Rabiu said he received news on Friday evening that his wife had been located in Sokoto, though she was unable to speak. She has since regained full consciousness and communicates with him through written messages.

According to Rabiu, Khadijat remembers hearing someone call her name before leaving the house, but nothing else until she found herself in Sokoto. There, she met a stranger who provided paper and pen so she could recount the events. The stranger then contacted Rabiu and helped arrange for her to stay with a relative in Sokoto.

Rabiu said his wife remains in Sokoto and he plans to travel there to bring her home. A police source at Life Camp confirmed the report was made on Thursday but referred further inquiries to the command’s headquarters. Repeated attempts to reach the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful.
