Gunmen kill over 30 people in Munya LG, Niger State
Gunmen have killed over thirty people in the Kachiwe and its adjoining communities in Sarkin Pawa, Headquarters of Munya Local Government of Niger State.
Sources said the gunmen stormed the community from their hideout to carry out the mass killing.
The Secretary to Niger State Government, Ahmad Matane, confirmed the development but did not give the exact number of people killed.
Ahmad Matane said that the state government is taking measures to address security challenges across the state.
He urged the people to provide reliable information to security agencies, as part of measures to curtail the activities of the criminal elements in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Monday Kuryas, also confirmed the attack by the gunmen on the communities in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State.
Monday Kuryas assured the people that already, the Police have begun an investigation into the matter, to enable them to bring the perpetrators of the crime to book.
He said a team of Policemen have been deployed to the affected communities, to safeguard their lives and properties
