Gunmen Attack GUO Motors Bus: Driver Killed, Passengers Abducted on Journey from Lagos to South-East
Suspected kidnappers ambushed a GUO Motors bus traveling from Lagos to the South-East region of Nigeria, resulting in the tragic death of the driver and the abduction of all passengers. The horrifying incident occurred on Friday, with a distressing video shared by Senator Ned Nwoko shedding light on the grim situation.
The assailants left a little girl behind after kidnapping her parents and the rest of the passengers. The exact location of the incident remains unverified, as reported by SaharaReporters. In the shared video, a voice revealed that the bus had made a stop at Akure during its journey from Lagos.
Expressing his dismay over the attack, Senator Ned Nwoko emphasized the urgent need for self-defense laws. He pointed out that if either the driver or passengers had been armed, the kidnappers might have been deterred.
The tragic event has sparked outrage among Nigerians, who echo Senator Nwoko’s sentiments on the necessity of self-defense laws. Social media users voiced their concerns and opinions on the matter.
Twitter user @flourish007 supported the call for self-defense, stating, “One of the main reasons citizens should be allowed to carry firearms for self-defense is the fundamental right to protect oneself and loved ones from harm.”
@francis_ranco added, “Self-defense is the most effective way of self-preservation. Nigerians must be allowed to defend themselves.”
@solexcasa questioned the response time of security personnel, asking, “Why are men of the @PoliceNG so unprofessional in their conduct?” and expressing frustration over the handling of the crime scene.
The incident underscores the growing concern over the security situation in Nigeria and intensifies the call for proactive measures, including the enactment of laws supporting citizens’ right to self-defense.
