Gunmen again kidnap two catholic priests in Kaduna State
Two Catholic priests, Reverend Father John Cheitnum and Reverend Father Donatus Cleopas have been abducted by terrorists at Yadin Gura in Lere Local Government of Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria. Reverend Father Cheitnum is the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in Jema’a Local Government Area of the State.
This is contained in a statement signed by Chancellor of Kafanchan Catholic Diocese, Reverend Father Emmanuel Okolo.
According to the statement, the abduction occurred late on Friday evening shortly after the two priests who were on their way to a function at different parishes arrived at the Rectory of Christ the King Catholic Church in Yadin Gura.
This is the third Catholic priest to be abducted in Kaduna State in less than two months besides the late Reverend Father Vitus Borogo who was killed on his farm early in June this year.
The Chancellor of Kafanchan Catholic Diocese who solicits for intense prayers for the quick and safe release of the priests, called on all and sundry to refrain from taking the laws into their hands, as they will use every legitimate means to ensure the return of the abducted priests.
