Gunmen Abduct Newly Inducted Medical Radiographer, Demand N200 Million Ransom
Gunmen have kidnapped Basheerah Ojedeyi, a newly inducted medical radiographer and graduate of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto. The abduction reportedly occurred in Niger State on Monday, September 29, 2025, around 8:00 p.m., as she was returning home after her induction ceremony.
The kidnappers have contacted Ojedeyi’s family, demanding a ransom of N200 million for her release. Efforts to negotiate or establish further communication with the abductors are ongoing, but her current location and condition remain unknown.
Security agencies have been notified and are actively investigating the incident. The abduction has sparked widespread concern among her family, colleagues, and the healthcare community, many of whom have taken to social media to appeal for swift action to secure her safe return.
