Governor Umo Eno Announces New Minimum Wage of N80,000 for Akwa Ibom Workers
Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has announced a new minimum wage of N80,000 for state government employees.
To facilitate the effective implementation of this wage increase, Governor Eno has established an Implementation Committee tasked with finalizing the execution plan within one month. The committee is chaired by the State’s Head of Civil Service and includes key stakeholders such as the Accountant General, the State Chairman of the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, and leaders from the Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, and Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees.
State Commissioner for Information Ini Ememobong confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday, highlighting it as a testament to the state government’s commitment to improving the welfare of its workforce.
