Government Cafeteria TVs Hacked, Showing Video of Trump Kissing Elon Musk’s Feet
Employees at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) were caught off guard on Monday, Feb. 24, when cafeteria television screens began playing a bizarre video of President Donald Trump. The footage, seemingly AI-generated, showed Trump kissing Elon Musk’s feet with the words “Long Live the Real King” displayed prominently.
A source within HUD shared footage of the incident with Vox reporter Rachel Cohen, who posted it on social media. The origins of the video and how it ended up on the government-owned television screens remain unknown. A spokesperson for HUD, Kasey Lovett, condemned the incident, calling it a misuse of taxpayer resources and vowing accountability for those involved.
Elon Musk, currently serving as a special adviser to President Trump, has been leading the administration’s DOGE initiative, aimed at improving government efficiency. However, his involvement has sparked growing frustration among federal employees, particularly due to his push to evaluate productivity.
Tensions escalated further last week when Musk sent an email to federal employees with the subject line, “What did you do last week?” The email instructed workers to submit a summary of their accomplishments in five bullet points and CC their managers. Musk later posted on X that failure to respond would be considered a resignation. The deadline for compliance was set for the end of Monday, Feb. 24.
Many government employees have criticized Musk’s actions, accusing him of acting as an unelected authority and calling on Trump to remove him from his advisory role. Despite the backlash, Trump reaffirmed his support for Musk’s efforts, stating from the Oval Office that he thought the email to federal workers was “great.”
