Gov Soludo Announces More Appointments

Chukwuma Soludo has approved a new set of appointments into key positions in the Anambra State Government, as his administration begins a second term in office.

The appointments were disclosed in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, and span several sectors including administration, justice, health, innovation, and security.

Mrs. Ngozi Iwouno has been appointed Head of Service, while Tobechukwu Nweke will serve as Attorney-General. Joachin Anetoh takes the position of Principal Secretary to the Governor, and Ben Nwankwo was named Chief of Staff. Frank-Collins Okafor will serve as State Chief of Protocol.

Other appointments include Vincent Okechi as Deputy Chief of Staff and Ms. Ngozi Lucy Okoye as Deputy State Chief of Protocol. Aburime will continue in his role as Chief Press Secretary.

The governor also appointed several special advisers: Dr. Godwin Nnadozie (Medical and Pharmaceuticals), Ms. Chinwe Okoli (Innovation and Business Incubation), Ebuka Nwankwo (Special Projects), and Mr. Ken Emeakayi (Community Security).

The appointments follow recent efforts by the administration to broaden representation in government, including the selection of Chiamaka Nnake as the first female Secretary to the State Government.

Soludo, who was re-elected after the last governorship poll, has maintained that his second term will prioritise economic development, improved security, and infrastructure expansion. He reiterated these priorities during his inauguration and in a recent media engagement, where he pointed to ongoing reforms and investment initiatives across the state.
