Ghana Police Arrest Prophet Ebo Noah Following End-of-World Predictions

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Evans Eshun, widely known as Ebo Noah, after his recent prophecies about global disaster gained widespread attention.

A statement posted on the police’s official website on Wednesday said Eshun was taken into custody by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team. The action is part of ongoing efforts to monitor online activity related to religious events, particularly during the end-of-year period.

The police noted that the arrest followed online reports linking Eshun’s public predictions to potential threats to public order. “The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of a man identified as Evans Eshun, also known as Ebo Noah, by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team,” the statement said. “The arrest is part of efforts to monitor and address cyber-related activities in the period leading up to 31st night religious services.”

Authorities have not detailed the specific allegations or charges, and it is unclear whether others are involved. Police emphasized that Eshun is in custody to assist with investigations and that any legal proceedings will follow due process.

Ebo Noah first gained attention in August for claiming a divine warning of three years of catastrophic rainfall. He later constructed a large wooden ark, named the Ebo Noah Ark, in preparation for a predicted flood on December 25. Videos of the ark and his warnings drew national and international coverage, with visitors traveling to see the structure.

In a recent video, Eshun said the disaster did not occur and shared that a new revelation indicated the ark could not accommodate all who sought refuge. He added that God had granted him additional time to build more arks.

The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to avoid speculation while investigations continue and confirmed that Eshun is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Further updates are expected as authorities determine the next steps.
