Gas Explosion Kills Mother, Daughter, Two Hospitalized
In a tragic incident on Ebute Road in the Ibafo area of Ogun State, a gas explosion has claimed the lives of a 40-year-old mother, Rafiat Sheriff, and her seven-year-old daughter, Asisat.
According to Ogun State police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, the explosion occurred on Saturday night. Sheriff had asked her daughter to prepare dinner, and as the young girl attempted to light the gas cylinder, the house was engulfed in flames.
“The mother and the child lost their lives in the explosion. Two other girls, including one of the deceased’s children, are currently receiving treatment in the hospital,” Odutola confirmed on Sunday.
