“Ganduje Is Not a Corrupt Politician” — Aide

Muhammad Garba, spokesman for the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed allegations of corruption against his principal, describing them as false and politically motivated.

In a statement issued on Monday, Garba, a former Commissioner for Information in Kano State, said Ganduje governed with transparency and accountability, leaving behind notable legacies during his eight years as governor. He accused the Kano State Government of deliberately attempting to link the former governor to financial mismanagement, corruption, and misconduct, including allegations of overspending and land grabbing.

Garba insisted that Ganduje’s record reflected a commitment to development and prudent use of state resources, stressing that all activities conducted by the government directorate were lawful and within budgetary approval. He described references to scandals involving the former governor as politically charged narratives aimed at undermining his legacy.

“Governor Ganduje’s record reflects decades of service to Kano State. These narratives are acts of misinformation aimed at distracting the public from real governance issues,” Garba said.

He added that Ganduje’s administration left behind enduring programmes and structures and argued that attempts to associate him with the alleged misdeeds of the current administration were baseless.

Garba urged the public, media, and political stakeholders to desist from using Ganduje’s name for propaganda or political attacks, maintaining that any genuine concerns should be addressed through appropriate legal channels rather than dragging the former leader into what he called unfounded accusations.
