FULL LIST: Federal Government of Nigeria Appoints New Chargé D’affaires and Consuls General
The Nigerian government has appointed five new Chargé D’affaires and 12 Consuls General to represent the country in various international missions, further bolstering its diplomatic outreach.
Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced the appointments in a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy, Alkasim Abdulkadir. Tuggar urged the newly appointed diplomats to be exemplary representatives of Nigeria, emphasizing that they play a crucial role in supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic agenda. He also reminded them to avoid political influences and stay committed to their diplomatic roles for the betterment of Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, the Consul General for the New York Consulate, expressed their dedication to upholding the principles of diplomacy and bringing valuable investments to Nigeria. He thanked President Tinubu and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their trust in the new appointees.
