FG Slashes Dialysis Cost by 76%, Announces Hospitals Offering Subsidized Treatment

 

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a 76% reduction in the cost of kidney dialysis, cutting the price per session from ₦50,000 to ₦12,000.

 

The initiative, which falls under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, is designed to make life-saving dialysis treatment more accessible and affordable for Nigerians suffering from kidney diseases.

 

According to the Ministry of Health, the subsidy will be available at 11 federal health institutions across the country.

 

Hospitals Offering ₦12,000 Dialysis Sessions

 

* Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ebute-Metta, Lagos

* Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, Abuja

* University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan

* Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri

* University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH)

* Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta

* Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Lagos

* Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare

* University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin

* University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), Calabar

* Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi

 

The government says the intervention is part of ongoing efforts to improve access to affordable healthcare services and reduce the financial burden on families managing chronic kidney conditions.
