FG Declares Wednesday Public Holiday

In a move to honor the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Wednesday, September 27, as a public holiday. The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the federal government.

As the Eid-el-Maulud celebration approaches, Minister Tunji-Ojo extended his warm congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, both within Nigeria and abroad, for the significance of this occasion.
