FFK Reacts to Arrest and Detention of Simon Ekpa by Finnish Authorities

Former Minister of Aviation and prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) member, Femi Fani-Kayode, has commended the arrest and detention of Simon Ekpa, a key figure in the Biafra separatist movement, as a positive development.

Simon Ekpa, who styles himself as the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, was recently detained by Finnish authorities on charges related to terrorism. His arrest has sparked widespread reactions, with Fani-Kayode expressing his approval in a statement on his official X account.

Fani-Kayode described Ekpa as a divisive and dangerous figure who allegedly incited violence and terror in Nigeria from his base in Finland. In his post, he accused Ekpa of being a “feral psychopath” and “a man of blood” whose actions caused harm and suffering to innocent Nigerians, particularly in the South-East. He further criticized Ekpa for promoting ethnic and religious divisions while orchestrating attacks from afar.

According to Fani-Kayode, the arrest is not only a step toward justice but also a warning to others who propagate violence and disregard the sanctity of human life. He expressed hope that it would serve as a deterrent to individuals pursuing similar divisive and destructive agendas.
