Federal Government Begins Toll Collection on Abuja-Makurdi Expressway
The Federal Government has announced the commencement of toll collection on the Abuja-Akwanga-Lafia-Makurdi Expressway, with the official flag-off set for Tuesday. The event will be officiated by the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, at the Garaku Toll Station, located at KM 32 along the Keffi-Akwanga section of the highway.
This tolling initiative is part of the Highways Development and Management Initiative (HDMI) Phase II, under the Value Added Concession (VAC) scheme. The expressway, which spans multiple states, will feature four toll stations, raising concerns among road users and transporters regarding its potential impact on transportation fares.
