A tragic incident in Malaysia’s Royal Navy has resulted in the deaths of ten individuals after two military helicopters collided mid-air during a training exercise. The collision, which occurred on Monday night during preparations for a Royal Malaysian Navy parade, has shaken the nation.
According to the BBC, the crash happened when one of the helicopters clipped the rotor of the other, causing both to plummet to the ground. The accident took place in Lumut, a coastal town that is home to a major navy base.
Eyewitness accounts and footage from local media captured the chaos following the collision. One of the helicopters, a HOM M503-3, had seven people on board and crashed onto a running track, while the other, a Fennec M502-6 with three people, crashed into a nearby swimming pool.
