#EndBadGovernance: Taraba Capital Comes to a Standstill as Protesters Take Over Streets
On Thursday morning, streets in Jalingo, Taraba State’s capital, were overtaken by protesters participating in the #EndBadGovernance movement. The demonstration, predominantly involving children and youths, began at the Ministry of Works Roundabout and proceeded towards the Roadblock Flyover.
The protesters voiced their dissent with chants in Hausa, including “Tinubu-Shettima bamuyi,” translating to “We don’t want Tinubu and Shettima.”
The impact on daily life was significant, with human and vehicular traffic noticeably reduced. By the time of this report, local businesses had been affected, with shop owners at Jalingo market and Hammaruwa Road closing their shops. The overall atmosphere in Jalingo reflected a halt in business activities due to the ongoing protest.
