“Eliminate Terrorists and Their Sponsors Before U.S. Strikes” — Adeboye Tells FG
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Federal Government to act decisively against terrorists and their sponsors before the United States takes possible military action in Nigeria.
Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service on Friday, Adeboye reacted to recent warnings from U.S. President Donald Trump, who said America would intervene to protect Christians in Nigeria from extremist attacks.
Adeboye urged President Bola Tinubu to give the newly appointed service chiefs a three-month ultimatum to eliminate terrorist groups and their financiers, insisting that failure to meet the target should lead to their resignation.
“This is not the time for apportioning blame,” Adeboye said. “Our President inherited this problem. When giving orders to the service chiefs, they must ensure the terrorists and their sponsors—no matter how influential—are wiped out.”
He cautioned that Nigeria should not expect assistance from global powers if the U.S. proceeds with military intervention.
“If America attacks us, China is not coming to defend us. Russia will not come to defend us. The world will only condemn it in words, but no one will help. This is not the time for drama or arguments—innocent people are dying,” he warned.
Adeboye further advised Tinubu to seek a diplomatic engagement with Trump and request a 100-day window to tackle the insurgency. He said that once such a grace period is secured, the president should demand visible results from the service chiefs within 90 days.
“Let the government convince President Trump to give us 100 days of grace. The service chiefs must perform within three months or resign,” he added.
Trump, in a post on his Truth Social platform last week, described the situation in Nigeria as an “existential threat” to Christianity and vowed that the U.S. “cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening.” He also directed members of Congress to investigate and report on the crisis.
