Eleven Die in Jigawa Fatal Motor Accident
Eleven lives were lost in a fatal motor accident in Taura Local Government, Jigawa State. The Jigawa State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP. Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the heartbreaking event that unfolded on Saturday, December 23, 2023, around 12:00 PM.
The collision occurred when two vehicles, a Honda L.E (ash in colour, registration number NSR 469 AE) driven by Abdullahi Muhammad and carrying five passengers from Kano to Balangu town in Kafin Hausa LGA, and a Golf Wagon (red in colour, registration number AUY 292 XA) driven by Safiyanu Mamu with four passengers from Gujungu to Taura LGA, collided head-on at Kwanar Gujungu town in Taura Local Government.
Tragically, all eleven occupants of both vehicles lost their lives on the spot. In response to the incident, a team of Police personnel from the Motor Traffic Department (MTD) at Taura Divisional Police Headquarters swiftly arrived at the scene. The bodies were then transported to the General Hospital, where a Medical Doctor confirmed their unfortunate demise.
Expressing condolences on behalf of the officers and men of the command, Commissioner of Police Jigawa State, CP AT Abdullahi psc, extended heartfelt sympathy to the families and relatives of the deceased. He prayed for Almighty Allah’s mercy, forgiveness of their shortcomings, and the prevention of such tragic incidents in the future.
