Ekiti Chief Judge Badly Injured As Court Building Collapses On Him
A section of the office of the Chief Judge of Ekiti State collapsed on Thursday, injuring the occupant, Justice John Adeyeye.
It was learnt Justice Adeyeye had arrived at the office when the incident occurred, thereby halting court proceedings.
Though no life was lost in the incident, which occurred at about 12:30pm, Adeyeye sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a private health facility in the state.
An eyewitness account, the Chief Judge had arrived in the office and was attending to guests and other litigants when the unfortunate incident occurred.
The incident caused palpable tension and apprehension around the premises of the court located at Fajuyi area of the State capital.
One of the personal aides of the chief judge, who also spoke on the incident, said the CJ was seriously injured during the incident, but he is currently in a stable condition and responding to treatment.
