EFCC Arrests 26 Alleged Internet Fraudsters in Abuja
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully detained 26 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in various areas of Abuja, including Kurudu, Jahi, Kubwa, and Gwarimpa.
According to Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the commission, the arrests were made following credible information pointing to the suspects’ involvement in internet-related offenses. In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, Oyewale revealed that a Toyota Tacoma, a CLS Mercedes 450, and three Lexus cars were among the items recovered, along with 40 phones and seven laptops.
The suspects are currently under investigation, and upon its completion, the EFCC intends to bring charges against them in court. The commission remains committed to combating cybercrime and ensuring that those involved face the appropriate legal consequences.
