The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Suleiman Aledeh as the Managing Director of Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS). The announcement, made on Saturday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, confirmed that the appointment takes immediate effect.

Aledeh, a renowned journalist with over two decades of experience, brings an impressive résumé in broadcast media. The statement described him as an “international journalist, editor-at-large, and strategic media and communication consultant” with contributions to leading global media platforms like Al Jazeera, SABC, and GB News UK. Currently, Aledeh anchors programs on Arise News and shares commentary on Classic FM.

A graduate of Philosophy from the University of Benin (1999), Aledeh began his media career at Edo Broadcasting Service while still a student. During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year, he served at Ebonyi Radio, where he became the first corps member allowed to read the station’s major news bulletin.

Aledeh’s career further blossomed at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, where he created and presented notable programs, eventually transitioning to national television. He gained prominence at TVC and Channels Television, anchoring flagship news programs and covering major events such as Nigeria’s 2011 and 2015 general elections.

Beyond broadcasting, Aledeh held leadership roles, including as Assistant General Manager and Head of Media and Communications at Eko Disco, Nigeria’s largest electricity distribution company. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management and an Associate of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.

Aledeh also holds a Master’s Degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies from the University of Lagos. His expertise extends to strategic communication, media consulting, and reporting for international news outlets.
