“Don’t Confess If You Cheat on Your Wife” — Teju Babyface Advises Men
Media personality Teju Oyelakin, better known as Teju Babyface, has advised men not to confess infidelity to their wives, warning that such revelations could cause irreparable damage to relationships.
In a recent video, Teju argued that confessions are often driven by guilt rather than honesty, suggesting that they serve the interest of the person confessing rather than their partner. According to him, many who admit to cheating are seeking relief from the weight of a guilty conscience or are subconsciously trying to sabotage their relationships.
“The truth is you are not being honest, you are being manipulative. If honesty were really your greatest strength, then you would at least be honest with yourself about why you want to confess. The reason is not because you are honest but because guilt is killing you,” he said.
He explained that while the confessor may feel unburdened, the spouse gains nothing from the disclosure and often suffers the consequences. Teju also emphasized that biblical principles of confession and forgiveness apply to a person’s relationship with God, not necessarily with a human partner.
“People will even quote the Bible to support confession, saying if we confess and repent, our sins are forgiven. Excuse me, that is to God and from God, not to man. Do not do it,” he stated.
The comedian urged individuals to reflect deeply on their motivations before confessing, asking them to consider what they hope to achieve and the possible fallout of such actions.
