Dangote Refinery Exports First PMS Shipment to Cameroon
Dangote Refinery has exported its first-ever shipment of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to Cameroon. This milestone, achieved in collaboration with Neptune Oil, underscores the refinery’s position as Africa’s largest and a key driver of intra-continental trade.
The export marks a significant advancement in economic ties between Nigeria and Cameroon while addressing the region’s increasing energy demands. Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of the Dangote Group, highlighted the broader implications of the achievement, stating, “This first export of PMS to Cameroon is a tangible demonstration of our vision for a united and energy-independent Africa. With this development, we are laying the foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged within the continent for the benefit of our people.”
Antoine Ndzengue, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, echoed these sentiments, calling the collaboration a turning point for Cameroon. He emphasized the strategic importance of this initiative, saying, “By becoming the first importer of petroleum products from this world-class refinery, we are bolstering our country’s energy security and supporting local economic development. This initial supply, executed without international intermediaries, reflects our commitment to serving our markets independently and efficiently.”
This partnership aims to establish a sustainable supply chain that could stabilize fuel prices and create economic opportunities throughout the region. For Nigeria, the export demonstrates Dangote Refinery’s capacity to meet local fuel needs while emerging as a vital player in the broader African energy market.
