Curfew: Not Everything Must Be Commented On — Wike to Falana

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has advised human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, to verify facts before commenting on public issues.

Wike spoke on Sunday after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa, responding to Falana’s criticism of the FCT’s public holiday declaration and curfew during the recent Area Council polls.

“The restrictions were approved by Mr. President based on security reports of potential unrest,” Wike said, adding that not every situation requires public commentary and emphasizing the importance of understanding events before speaking.
