Court Orders 48 Persons to Report to SSS Over Fraud Allegations
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered 48 persons to report to the State Security Service (SSS), Shangisha, Lagos, in connection with allegations of fraud and the illegal receipt of funds.
The directive was issued on 12 January 2026 in an ongoing investigation in a suit filed by the Federal Republic of Nigeria against Yakubu Idris and 47 others. The order forms part of proceedings under Suit No: FHC/L/MISC/649/2025.
According to the court, the individuals named in the matter are required to present themselves at the SSS Lagos Command within 60 days of the publication of the public notice. The court stated that compliance with the directive is mandatory and intended to allow the individuals to respond to the allegations against them.
The persons listed for investigation are drawn from several states, including Abuja (FCT), Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Nasarawa, Kano, Imo, Delta and Rivers states. Their ages range from 24 to 76 years.
Among those named are Yakubu Idris, Ajibade Lukman Olawale and Owolabi Adesina Samuel. The SSS is expected to conduct further inquiries following their appearance.
