Confusion as Female Passenger Dies in Lagos Keke Marwa
A wave of panic swept through the Isheri-Idimu area of Lagos State on Friday when a female passenger, yet to be identified, was found dead in a tricycle, popularly known as Keke Marwa.
The incident occurred after the woman boarded the tricycle along the Isheri-Igando Road, heading towards the Isheri area. Upon arrival at her destination, the tricycle rider attempted to notify her, only to discover that she was unresponsive and motionless.
An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted the shocking scene: “I was near the Isheri bus stop when I heard the tricycle rider calling for help. When we approached, we saw the woman leaning against the middle barricade of the tricycle, unresponsive.”
The eyewitness continued, “The rider said she was supposed to get off at Isheri, the final stop, but when she didn’t respond, he raised the alarm. The area quickly became crowded as people were curious and concerned.”
Another local resident, Sodiq, described the futile attempts to revive the woman: “People tried their best to help her, but it was too late. The police arrived shortly after, and the crowd dispersed quickly to avoid any potential trouble.”
Speculations arose among the onlookers regarding the cause of death, with some suggesting she might have suffered from an ailment or a heart attack.
The tricycle was subsequently taken to the Idimu police station, while the deceased was transported to an undisclosed hospital for further examination.
