Christian Genocide: “You Seem Panicky” — “I’m Cool as a Cucumber”: Piers Morgan and Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Spar Over Unreleased Interview
British broadcaster Piers Morgan and Nigeria’s foreign minister, Yusuf Tuggar, have exchanged sharp remarks over an interview that has not yet been released.
Tuggar said he joined Morgan’s programme to give what he described as a factual response to claims of religious persecution in Nigeria. According to him, the points he raised may have challenged certain assumptions but were backed by verifiable information. He insisted the full recording should be broadcast without edits, arguing that Nigeria’s position should not be reshaped to suit outside narratives.
Morgan dismissed the request as unnecessary, saying the minister sounded panicked and assuring him the show would air his comments in full. He added that public judgment would ultimately determine how the interview is received.
Tuggar countered with a light jab, saying he was perfectly calm and hinting at a slip during the interview in which Morgan allegedly referred to the “Chibok Boys”, a mix-up with the Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram in 2014.
As of publication, the interview had not appeared on Morgan’s YouTube channel, and no release date had been announced.
