Chief Chekwas Okorie Urges Nigerians to Support President Tinubu Amidst Claims of Northern Gangup

Chief Chekwas Okorie, Founder and Pioneer National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has criticized what he perceives as a Northern gang-up against President Bola Tinubu. Okorie contends that it is time to allow President Tinubu to lead Nigeria and calls on Nigerians to defend democracy.

Highlighting recent allegations and attacks on President Tinubu’s administration, Okorie pointed to the Northern Senators Forum’s claim of a N3 trillion padding in the 2024 budget. He emphasized that these allegations, broadcasted internationally by Senator Abdul Ningi, create a negative portrayal of the North under Tinubu’s leadership.

Okorie also mentioned previous incidents, including threats from Senator Ali Ndume regarding administrative actions and controversial remarks by Islamic cleric Alhaji Abubakar Gumi. He expressed concern over efforts to derail President Tinubu’s administration, stating that opposition politics should be constructive for the sake of good governance.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s political history, Okorie reminded the public that the North has held executive powers for a significant portion of the country’s 64-year independence. He urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu, emphasizing the need for vigilance to protect the nation’s hard-earned democracy.

In conclusion, Chief Chekwas Okorie called for cooperation with President Tinubu and stressed the importance of allowing history to judge his governance. He urged all well-meaning Nigerians to remain vigilant and safeguard the democratic principles that define the nation’s interest.
