Certificate Scandal: ‘Tinubu is the Last Hope of Nigeria, Stop Distracting Him’ Umahi Warns Atiku, Obi Supporters
Senator David Umahi, the Minister of Works, weighed in on the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s academic records and urged supporters of the opposition candidates, commonly known as ‘Atikulated’ and ‘Obidients,’ to refocus their attention.
Senator Umahi passionately defended President Tinubu, referring to him as “the answer to the prayers of Nigerians to God” and asserting that his track record speaks volumes about his competence. The Minister emphasized President Tinubu’s impressive journey through various government appointments, including roles in the Federal Capital Territory, Works, and Finance.
“This President is the last hope for this country,” Senator Umahi declared, as he called for unified support for Tinubu’s “renewed hope agenda.” He challenged the supporters of opposition candidates to produce the academic records of their principals, specifically their WAEC certificates, and questioned their credibility, asking, “What did they score? They are challenging someone who is an ‘A’ student.”
Senator Umahi did not limit his address to defending President Tinubu. He took the opportunity to address the performance of State Controllers of Works, expressing his disappointment with several of them for failing to meet their obligations in overseeing road projects. The Minister commended the Director in the South West and his team for their efforts but warned that others needed to “sit up or risk losing their positions.”
