‘Can I Sue?’ – Eloswag Reacts After S€x Tape He ‘Mistakenly’ Uploaded on Snapchat Goes Viral
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Eloka Nwamu, popularly known as Eloswag, has found himself at the center of a fresh controversy after an explicit video allegedly posted on his Snapchat surfaced online, sparking a wave of discussions and debates. Eloswag, 30, became the latest Nigerian celebrity to have an intimate video leaked, fueling speculation across social media platforms.
The video, reportedly showing Eloswag in a private moment with an unidentified woman, first gained traction on Sunday when it was shared by popular blog Gistlover. The leak has sparked intense conversations among fans and followers, with some suggesting it may be an attempt by Eloswag to regain public attention following a perceived lull in his career, while others speculate it could be a reaction to recent rumors questioning his sexuality after Gistlover included him on a list of alleged gay celebrities in Nigeria.
Eloswag Responds
In response to the incident, Eloswag took to X (formerly Twitter) to express shock and dismay over the leaked video, which he claims was posted on Snapchat accidentally at around 3 a.m. before he quickly deleted it. In his since-deleted post, he hinted at pursuing legal action against Gistlover for circulating the clip.
“I posted a video mistakenly on my Snapchat by 3 a.m. and deleted it immediately. Guess who has the video? GISTLOVER? How? Please, can I sue? Because it doesn’t make sense,” Eloswag wrote.
Eloswag, known for his bold and outspoken personality during his time on BBNaija, is no stranger to public controversy. He often found himself embroiled in various dramas on the show, from romantic entanglements, including a brief relationship with BBNaija Season 7 winner Phyna, to a memorable incident involving hidden packs of condoms that sparked conversation among viewers.
A Growing Trend of Celebrity Privacy Breaches
Eloswag’s case is the latest in a series of Nigerian celebrity sex tape leaks that have led to discussions on privacy and consent in the digital era. In 2021, Afrobeat star Tiwa Savage faced a similar situation when an intimate video was leaked online, allegedly after her partner accidentally posted it on Snapchat. Tiwa, however, took control of the narrative, addressing the public backlash and asserting her lack of regret, as she was not cheating or doing anything illegal.
Similarly, former BBNaija housemate Cross experienced his own scandal in 2022 when he “mistakenly” shared a nude video of himself on Snapchat. The incident, which he later dismissed as accidental, sparked reactions and debates across social media.
Another prominent case involved rising singer Oxlade, whose intimate Snapchat video went viral in 2022. Oxlade admitted to creating a Snapchat streak with his intimate footage, later alleging that a friend recorded and leaked the clip without his consent.
