Buhari’s Burial Set for Tuesday in Daura, Body to Arrive in Katsina by Midday
The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari will arrive in Katsina State by midday on Tuesday, July 15, ahead of his burial later that afternoon in his hometown of Daura.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda confirmed the arrangements during a press briefing in Katsina on Monday. He said the burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. and will be conducted in accordance with Islamic rites, reflecting the former president’s faith and cultural heritage.
The governor noted that the funeral plans were finalized following consultations with Buhari’s family and close associates in London, where the former leader passed away.
“We pray Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal rest and reward him with Aljannatul Firdaus,” Governor Radda said.
He also extended heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on behalf of the government and people of Katsina State.
“We also condole His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the passing of his predecessor. May Allah give us the strength to bear this great loss,” Radda added.
The burial will be coordinated by the Katsina State Government in collaboration with federal authorities and the Buhari family to ensure a dignified and solemn farewell for the late statesman.
