Although she made no mention of the purpose of the visit, the President’s appearance at the National Assembly may not be unconnected to the summon by the House of Representatives over the recent killing of 43 farmers in Zabarmari community in Borno State.
You would recall that members of the House of Representatives had resolved to invite the President to address them on what is being done to tackle the current security challenges in some parts of the country.
The invitation was personally delivered by the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila.
