Buhari Failed Woefully as President, Currently Living in Regret – Fmr Sports Minster Dalung

In a candid interview with Trust Radio, owned by Media Trust Group, former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, did not mince words when he criticized the government of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari. Dalung, who served under Buhari’s administration, stated that the government had failed woefully to deliver on its promises made during the 2015 campaign.

As a founding member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dalung expressed his duty to speak the truth, saying, “We failed to meet our expectations, and I am not hypocritical because, as a major stakeholder who campaigned vigorously in 2015 and went to the nooks and crannies of the north, of all the promises we made, we fulfilled none of them.”

During his interview, Dalung highlighted the key promises made during the 2015 campaign, including addressing the security situation, revamping the economy, and combating corruption. However, he firmly believed that these promises remained unfulfilled.

In his assessment, Dalung described President Buhari as an honest leader who initially trusted those around him. However, he suggested that some individuals had dragged Buhari’s name and integrity into the mud, leading to regret on the former president’s part.

Dalung also pointed out that the security situation had deteriorated significantly during Buhari’s tenure, with banditry and terrorism on the rise. He acknowledged that while there was modest progress in the early years of the APC administration, the current security dynamics in the country were worse than ever before, indicating a significant failure and indictment on the APC’s part.

Solomon Dalung’s candid remarks serve as a stark critique of the Buhari administration, shedding light on unfulfilled promises and a worsening security situation in Nigeria.
