Boy Slumps, Dies During Physical Altercation in Kwara
A somber atmosphere envelops Isale Koko, Ojagbooro, and Elekoyangan areas of Kwara State following the untimely demise of young Usman Abubakar during a heated altercation with Omotosho Jimoh.
The clash, ignited by a minor disagreement, escalated into a fatal confrontation, resulting in the tragic demise of Abubakar. Reports reveal that the young man collapsed during the altercation, leading to his demise.
Confirming the incident, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, the spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, disclosed that the deceased’s father, Mr. Adebayo Ahmed, reported the altercation on March 20, 2024. She categorized the incident as culpable homicide, shedding light on the unfortunate sequence of events.
“The two individuals engaged in a physical altercation over a trivial matter. Regrettably, during the altercation, Usman Abubakar collapsed and was swiftly rushed to the hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him deceased,” stated DSP Toun.
Despite requests for an autopsy, the family of the deceased opted for an immediate burial in accordance with Islamic customs. Meanwhile, the primary suspect, Omotosho Jimoh, remains at large. The Kwara State Police Command has initiated an intensive preliminary investigation into the incident.
“We are diligently pursuing the suspect and uncovering the circumstances surrounding this distressing incident. Rest assured, we are committed to delivering justice,” reassured DSP Toun.
