Blackout Hits Parts of Imo, Abia States Following Disruptions at TCN Alaoji Station
Residents of several areas in Imo and Abia states have been plunged into darkness following a disruption in power supply from the Alaoji Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) station.
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has confirmed the blackout, which began at 7:45 am on Thursday, and has affected multiple districts, including New Owerri, Owerri Urban, Owerri Rural, Orlu, Mbaise, and parts of Umuahia.
EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, revealed in a statement that the electricity distribution company is yet to determine the cause of the outage but is closely monitoring the situation.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconveniences this situation must have caused our esteemed customers and appeal for their understanding, while hoping that the issue is resolved soon to enable us restore supply to our affected customers,” Ezeh stated.
