Binance Responds to Escape of Executive, Anjarwalla, from Detention in Nigeria

Binance, a leading global cryptocurrency trading platform, has issued a response following the escape of one of its executives, Nadeem Anjarwalla, from detention in Nigeria.

Anjarwalla, who serves as Binance’s Africa regional manager, reportedly evaded custody while being escorted for prayers at a mosque in Abuja, Nigeria. The circumstances surrounding his escape have raised concerns about security protocols.

In a statement, Binance’s spokesperson, Samantha Fuller, emphasized the company’s commitment to its employees’ safety. Fuller stated that Binance is actively cooperating with Nigerian authorities to address the situation promptly.

“We are aware that Nadeem is no longer in Nigerian custody. Our priority remains the safety of our employees, and we are working closely with Nigerian authorities to resolve this issue,” Fuller affirmed.

Anjarwalla’s escape occurs amidst ongoing investigations into alleged money laundering and terrorism financing activities linked to Binance’s platform. Nigerian authorities, in collaboration with international partners, are intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend him.
