Bandit Attacks in Kogi: Two Dead, Several Abducted in Kabba/Bunu Communities
Suspected bandits have killed at least two people and abducted several others in coordinated attacks on Ihalé and Olle communities in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The attacks reportedly occurred simultaneously on Friday, leaving residents in shock as the assailants invaded the two communities. The victims who lost their lives have been identified as Williams Onimayin and Olowo Memobiayere, while an unspecified number of residents were taken away by the attackers.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the bandits struck both communities at the same time, creating fear and confusion as people fled for safety.
The Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Dare Michael, confirmed the incident in a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, John Omof. He said the local government is working closely with security agencies to address the situation and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
Michael also disclosed that efforts are ongoing to secure the release of all abducted persons. He expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased and the affected communities, while praying for the peaceful repose of those who lost their lives.
