Atiku to meet S/East PDP zonal stakeholders in Enugu Tuesday
John Alechenu, Abuja
Barring any last minute change, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, will be meeting party stakeholders in the South East, in Enugu, on Tuesday.
The meeting it was gathered is part of the presidential candidate’s consultations with party stakeholders at the Zonal level.
Atiku held a similar meeting with stakeholders in the South West, in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital last week.
It is expected that stakeholders in the zone will present their list of expectations as well as positions on issues of mutual benefit as the party prepares for the 2023 general elections.
The South East has constantly descried the marginalization of the Zone whenever the presidential ticket of the PDP is being discussed.
Party leaders in the zone have argued that the zone deserves more for substantially keeping faith with the PDP brand since inception in 1998.
When contacted, a Spokesperson for the PDP Presidential campaign, Mr. Charles Aniagu, simply said, “Yes, a meeting is scheduled to hold in Enugu tomorrow (Tuesday).”
