Atiku Applauds ADC for Appointing Youths to National Working Committee
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has praised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for appointing young Nigerians to key positions in its National Working Committee (NWC), describing the move as a bold and commendable step toward meaningful youth inclusion in politics.
The ADC recently named several young members to its NWC, including Bilyaminu Duhu as Assistant National Youth Leader for the North East, Jackie Wayas as Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hassana Dada as Assistant National Youth Leader for the North Central, David Itokpa as Deputy National Welfare Secretary, and Hauwa Yusuf as Deputy National Secretary.
Reacting to the appointments in a post on X, Atiku congratulated the appointees and lauded the party for taking concrete action rather than paying lip service to youth empowerment. “Congratulations to the vibrant young members of the African Democratic Congress—Bilyaminu Duhu, Jackie Wayas, Hassana Dada, David Itokpa, Hauwa Yusuf and others—on their well-deserved appointments to the party’s National Working Committee,” he wrote.
Atiku noted that the ADC’s decision goes beyond rhetoric, highlighting that the party is “no longer just speaking about youth inclusion; it is now boldly demonstrating it in action.” He emphasized that the future of young Nigerians must not be shaped without their participation and called the ADC’s actions a powerful example of what true leadership looks like. “This is what true leadership looks like—not just talking the talk, but walking it with purpose,” he added.
