The United States has placed 110 Nigerians on a deportation list involving 355 West African nationals, as immigration enforcement under the expanded West Africa Operations Watch (WOW) initiative intensifies.

The list, released by the United States Department of Homeland Security, includes names and photographs of individuals identified for removal. Nigeria accounts for the highest number of affected nationals, followed by Liberia with 94, Ghana with 30, and Senegal with 19.

Other countries represented include Cameroon (15), The Gambia (14), Côte d’Ivoire (14), Mauritania (12), Cape Verde (11), Burkina Faso (9), Niger (8), Guinea (6), Togo (6), Mali (5), and one each from Benin and Guinea-Bissau.

While the specific allegations for each individual were not disclosed in the current release, earlier enforcement categories in similar operations have included immigration violations alongside criminal offences such as fraud, money laundering, drug-related crimes, and violent conduct.

Officials said the measures target individuals identified for visa overstays, document irregularities, or criminal convictions under existing U.S. immigration laws.

The development comes as the administration of Donald Trump continues to tighten immigration policy, with a stronger emphasis on removals and border enforcement.

The 110 Nigerians listed represent the largest national group in the current round of enforcement across West Africa.
