Authorities in the United Kingdom have opened an investigation into the deaths of three Nigerian-British sisters whose bodies were recovered from the sea near Brighton Beach on May 13, 2026.
The victims have been identified as Rebecca Walter (31), Jane Adetoro (36), and Christiana Walter (32). All three were based in the Uxbridge area of West London.
Emergency services were called after reports of concern along the coastline. Coastguard teams later recovered the bodies from the water. Police units were also deployed as part of the initial response.
Authorities say early findings do not suggest foul play. Investigators have reported no signs of physical assault and no evidence of third-party involvement at this stage of the inquiry.
Coastguard assessments indicate that sea conditions on the day were rough, raising the possibility that the sisters entered the water and were unable to return to shore due to strong currents and difficult weather.
The case remains under active investigation as officials work to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the deaths.
Family members have been notified. Their father, Joseph, described the loss as devastating, saying the deaths of all three daughters at once have left the family in deep shock and grief.
