Arsenal kick of new premier league season with 3-0 win over Fulham
The 2020/21 Premier league season kicked off with the match between Fulham FC and Arsenal at the Craven Cottage.
Arsenal lined up with Leno in goal, new recruit Gabriel pairing up with Tierney and Holding in a three man defence. The midfield had Xhaka, Maitland Niles, Bellerin and Elneny. The front line had new signing Willian, Lacazette and Aubameyang.
The host Fulham had Rodak in goal, a back four comprising of Odoi, Hector, Ream and Bryan. The Fulham midfield lined up Read, Cairney, Kebano, Onomah and Cavaleiro. Upfront they had Kamara.
Arsenal went off the mark with a goal by Alex Lacazette in the 8th minute. The game became a ding dong affair all through the first half.
However on resumption of the second half Arsenal scored a second goal in the 49th minute off a header by new signing Gabriel from a corner kick by Willian.
The game was rounded up by a third goal in the 57th minute scored by Aubameyang also off a brilliant assist from Willian.
Arsenal hence continued their beautiful drive under Coach Mikel Arteta after FA Cup and Community shield wins.
Other games in the day one of the new Premier league season includes:
Crystal Palace vs Southampton
Liverpool vs Leeds
West Ham United vs Newcastle United
The games involving both Manchester teams, Burnley vs Manchester United and Manchester City vs Aston Villa have been postponed.
West Bromich Albion vs Leicester and Tottenham vs Everton would play on Sunday 13th September, while the Sheffield Utd vs Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton and Hove Albion games comes up on Monday 14th September.
